5th East-West Immunogenetics Conference

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is our pleasure we invite you to the V^th East-West Immunogenetics Conference (EWIC) to be held on March 4-5, 2010 in Pilsner Urquell Brewery Conference and Meeting Centre, Pilsen, Czech Republic.

The primary focus of the conference will be the immunogenetics of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and unrelated donor registries&cord blood banking histocompatibility issues.

The conference can not omit the increasing importance of various accreditation programmes in the area of immunogenetics of stem cells transplantation, such as EFI and WMDA. We would like to accentuate especially their complex and interlacing nature together with the usefulness of their application in routine practice.

Finally, the programme schedule has taken into account Pilsen as the residence of one of the biggest and oldest unrelated stem cell registry in the East&Central Europe. So, there will be logical emphasis on the donor registry typing and on registry operation and practise. We are planning to prepare special sessions dedicated to the various aspect of establishment of the unrelated stem cell donor registry with the aim to deliver the “know how” of well established and accredited registry to the new registries in Eastern Europe.

Shortly, we hope the motto of the conference: “Stem Cell Transplantation and Donor Selection – sharing the experience” will come true.

After successful previous meetings in Prague, the conference venue is moving for the first time to Pilsen – Metropolis of West Bohemia. The meeting will be set in the very beautiful Art Nouveau style conference centre, which is located directly inside the famous Pilsner Urquell Brewery.

We strongly believe that the conference programme will be interesting, challenging and stimulating. Additionally, we hope that you will be able to find the time to enjoy the city of Pilsen with its attractions.
